LE PROJET HAYATI. SALMA

The Hayati. Salma project was born from a collaboration between Moroccan know-how and creative work carried out in Loir-et-Cher.

Hayati means life in Arabic, just like water which is essential for life on Earth.

Salma is the name of the granddaughter of the artisan potter whose signature is inscribed on each of the terracotta oyas.

We offer oyas that combine functionality, water conservation , and decoration for your indoor plants and gardens. These terracotta oyas are thrown and hand-painted by Mohammed Aggzar , France Marchand , and Louise Bras .

The oya is an autonomous irrigation system that is over 4000 years old , allowing for economical and intelligent watering of plants, trees, shrubs or even vegetable gardens.

The porosity of terracotta allows the pottery to transpire.

The plant absorbs the water and takes root around the oya
to feed themselves.

In the vegetable garden , a 3 to 6 L oya can irrigate up to 50 cm in circumference , allowing you to plant around the oya.
3 to 4 plans .

For a tree or shrub, you plant one or two oyas depending on the water requirements; this will promote root development and encourage the roots to grow deeper.

The jar from Hayati-Salma allows you to optimize its use.
With the oya hole reduced,
Insects will be less attracted and evaporation will also be lower because only the neck of the bottle needs to protrude from the ground.

The oya helps to reduce diseases but also evaporation because you are not directly watering the plant or its leaves.

You can save up to 50% of water , the plant only drinks what it needs and thus you avoid over-watering or under-watering .
